Salamanca is a spanish province that is located in the region of Castilla y Leon, Spain. It is in the northwest of the country. It´s capital Salamanca, has 50% of it´s population with 160,000 inhabitants of the 330,000 in the city. The province of Salamanca borders with Zamora, Valladolid, Avila, Caceres and Portugal. It is a province with a contintental climate with cold and crisp winters and dry and hot summers.
This province has more than 350 municipalities of which about 100 of them only have a population of approximately 250 people. Other more important municipalities like Bejar, Ciudad Rodrigo, Santa Marta de Tormes, Guijuelo, Alba de Tormes and it´s capital Salamanca is the most important in size. |
